China – Capitalism or Hybrid Capitalism?

sorry I haven’t blogged for awhile, been lazy.

I was reading a article in the WSJ about a doctor who started a solar panel company, the majority of investment came from the Chinese Government which owned 75% of it, the Doctor Shi Zhengrong, one of the most wealthiest man in China since the IPO. now my confusion comes from the fact that the Government of China helps and owns alot of big international businesses based in China, Lenovo is one.

compared to the US Policy, the US Government doesn’t get even close to where China is. Chinese government invests in small start ups where the US Government doesn’t have any involvement. they might offer incentives to consumers but not directly act as a investmentor.

now I’m not saying this is bad, as a developing nation I think that is a great way to start up your economy or to create growth.

Question is, will China stop with the involvement of start up capital, relinquish government owned companies and let the Free Market decide what happens?
